Cunard have officially taken delivery of their newest ship. Known as Queen Anne it is the 249th vessel to sail for the iconic brand.
Queen Anne was handed over during a ceremony at the Fincantieri ship yard outside Venice, Italy where construction began two years ago.
“We are so excited to welcome Queen Anne to our fleet as she completes a remarkable quartet alongside Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth, and Queen Victoria – marking the first time since 1999 that Cunard will have four ships in simultaneous service.”
Katie McAlister, President of Cunard.
Setting new standards
The 2,996-guest Queen Anne is now the largest vessel in the Cunard fleet. Measuring 1,058ft in length and with 14 decks the cruise ship boasts new dining concepts and an enlarged spa, not to mention spectacular Grills suites.
Indeed, the 1440 sq. ft Grand Suite is a palatial apartment at sea. It has a reception hall leading on to a magnificent entertaining area with access to a deluxe private terrace. You can even host dinner parties in the ornate dining room; of course these can be arranged by your personal butler.
The Master and Penthouse Suites are also sure to please those who appreciate more space. The Queens Suite impresses too, with its chic decor and generous proportions.
Queen Anne dining
In addition to the acclaimed Queens Grill restaurant, there are four new dining venues to savour on Queen Anne: the Mediterranean-inspired Tramonto, the Aji Wa Japanese eatery, Sir Samuel’s steakhouse and the Aranya Indian restaurant.
What’s more, the cuisine in the Golden Lion pub has been elevated thanks to a partnership with two Michelin starred chef Michel Roux.
Relaxing on board Queen Anne
Queen Anne also features an impressive wellness offering. There are two swimming pools, a large gym and a Thermal Suite. Not to mention the reimagined Mareel Wellness & Beauty day-spa which promises new era of wellbeing at sea.
However, Grill’s guests are sure to appreciate the exclusive Grills Terrace. It is reserved exclusively for them and is a haven of relaxation in a sea of tranquility. The Grills Terrace has infinity hot tubs with views out to the horizon, as well as sun loungers and lots of shaded seats where you can enjoy a cool drink.
Maiden voyage
Queen Anne is now en route to Southampton, UK ahead of her 7-night maiden voyage to Lisbon on 3 May 2024.
“We are now fully focused on readying her to welcome guests for her maiden voyage before she embarks on an historic British Isles Festival Voyage.”
Katie McAlister, President of Cunard.
Queen Anne will be officially christened on 3 June 2024 in Cunard’s spiritual home of Liverpool. For more information visit the Cunard website.
