Staying in an Ocean Terrace Suite
I stayed in an Ocean Terrace Suite on Explora I for my 7 day voyage from Istanbul to Athens. It was wonderfully spacious and comfortable with designer flourishes (be sure to read the story in the book titles) as well as thoughtful touches that made it feel like home.
That said, what I really loved was the daybed on the veranda; it was perfect for lazing around and watching the ocean drift past.

What’s the suite like?
My Ocean Terrace Suite was simply divine, with surprising extras like a bedside clock and under floor heating in the bathroom. It also had lots of space to stretch out and relax, and the decor was delightfully modern.
The suite itself is divided into two distinct zones defined by a small book shelf. On one side is a sitting room, while on the other is bedroom area with a very comfortable bed.
The Ocean Terrace Suite also has a glamorous dressing room that includes a vanity area with a built in Dyson hair drier.
The bathroom was equally impressive, not least because of the designer black and white look. It had a big walk-in shower, although it’s worth noting the water pressure was weak on my voyage. I appreciated the marble vanity which had lots of storage space. Also, a real surprise was the under-floor heating which could be dialled up as you preferred.
I think the best part of the suite is the big veranda. In fact it is so big that there is ample space for a dining setting and a blissful daybed.
A place for everything
My Ocean Terrace Suite was so cleverly designed that there was a place for everything. The coffee and tea making facilities were hidden away when not in use. Likewise, the Dyson hairdryer had its own place in a custom made drawer.
The dressing room had space for two cases full of clothing, as well as glass shelves which made finding things easier. There were night stands with handy double-drawers. Some fellow guests noted that there was no writing desk, but to be honest that didn’t bother me.
Device charging
There were lots of device charging points in my Explora I Ocean Terrace Suite, including wireless and fast-charge USB-C slots.
Next to the bed was a single EURO and US powerpoint, ideal for CPAP machines. In addition, there were 2 x EURO and 2 x US power points at the desk as well as USB charging slots.
