It didn’t take long for me to understand that the nightlife on Explora I was different from other cruise ships. In fact the more I immersed myself in it, the more I realised it evoked the spirit of a cool New York night spot.

What’s the entertainment like?

In a word, outstanding. Cliched cruise ship shows have been banished in favour of performances that put the unique talents of each singer and musician centre stage.

Whether it’s shows in the theatre or intimate performances in one of the bars, you feel like you’re experiencing something special. Every night there is another intoxicating array of entertainment options.

Just as the entertainment is unique, so too are the ten different bars on Explora I. The Lobby Bar is chic and sophisticated. The Malt Whisky Bar is like a classic gentleman’s club with period cocktails to match.

Upstairs the open-air Sky Bar has an understated beach-club vibe. The Atoll Bar is the perfect place to unwind. Down in the Astern Lounge there is a disco (sometimes silent).

Slip outside to the Astern Bar for jaw dropping wake views. The Helios Bar is great for sunset drinks. Live entertainment and tempting cocktails await in the Explora Lounge. Or you can get a cheeky beverage at the bar in the Journeys Lounge theatre. The Conservatory Pool Bar will look after you during the silent cinema screenings.
