First impressions of a Veranda Stateroom

I stayed in a World Traveller Veranda Stateroom on my voyage from Málaga to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. My first impression was; “Wow, this is like a cabin on a super-yacht!” The room had an unmistakable nautical vibe as well as designer touches that made it feel extra special. Also, the spacious veranda was a treat; it was the perfect place to enjoy scenic cruising.

What’s a Veranda Stateroom really like?

My Veranda Stateroom on World Traveller was a wonderful retreat; a place to stretch out and relax after a day spent exploring. I really appreciated the thoughtful extras like a coffee machine, as well as binoculars for sightseeing. That said, it was the bathroom that impressed; more on that later.

The queen size bed is comfortable.

The stateroom is divided into two distinct zones, separated by a small partition. On one side is a sleeping area with a very comfortable bed, while on the other is a petit sitting space with two armchairs. There is also a well-lit writing desk which can be used as a makeup table too.

The sitting area opens onto a lovely veranda. It was surprisingly large, with plenty of room for outdoor furniture; although it’s worth mentioning that the deck chairs were not so comfortable. That said, I did love watching the ocean drift past out there.

The bathroom has a real wow-factor.

The bathroom is what really impressed me, not least because of the chic timber and tile decor. It also had a walk-in rainwater shower with a marble seat and multi-jet massage faucets – rejuvenating bliss! I also appreciated the amount of shelving; there was a place everything in this bathroom.

Is there enough storage space?

The limited amount of storage space in the World Traveller Veranda Stateroom is arguably the one minor downside. There is only a small closet, with just enough room for two medium-sized cases clothing. There are a few drawers and some shelves too.

Storage space is somewhat limited.

So if you cruise with lots of luggage it might be a squeeze. That said, the nightstands had small drawers and selves for personal items which was handy.

Device charging

My Veranda Stateroom on World Traveller had lots of device charging points. The writing desk had concealed US and EURO power points, as well as an old-style USB A slot.

On either side of the bed was a single EURO power point, so an adaptor may be required if you use a CPAP machine. There was also another USB slot on one side of the bed.

In addition, there were two US and one EURO power points near the television; although it’s worth noting these were somewhat inconveniently positioned.
