“Our industry-leading expedition team will design an exceptional line-up of experiences to showcase the very best of the continent’s icy landscapes and captivating wildlife.”
Conrad Combrink – Silversea’s SVP Expedition, Destination and Itinerary Management.
Silver Endeavour will set sail in Antarctica on 21 November 2022. The newly acquired and entirely refurbished luxury vessel will depart round-trip from King George Island. The 7-day voyage will showcase the best of the fascinating white continent, with insights from the on board experts.
Enrichment and insights
Among those experts will be the renowned British film maker Nicholas Crane. This former President of the Royal Geographical Society has been the lead presenter on more than 80 BBC films. Also on board will be naturalist and expedition leader Marieke Egan, as well as marine biologist Jamie Watts who has spent a decade exploring the Antarctic Peninsula. Acclaimed polar historian Dmitrii Kiselev will also share his exceptional knowledge with guests.
Guests on the inaugural Silver Endeavour voyage will also have the opportunity to see the towering ice formations of the Antarctic Sound. They can explore the Antarctic landscape on hiking expeditions and Zodiac tours. Not to mention chancing on penguin colonies, migrating birdlife, whales and seals.
The Antarctic Bridge to Silver Endeavour’s inaugural voyage
Silver Endeavour’s first guests will fly directly to Antarctica, embarking the ship on King George Island. The so-called ‘Antarctic Bridge’ flight enables guests to avoid sailing the Drake Passage, known for its rough weather.
Silversea will provide the exclusive charter flight between Punta Arenas and King George Island. The 2-hour flight includes a regionally inspired lunch service.
An Antarctic summer
The Antarctic summer will see Silver Endeavour embark on voyages through to March 2023. These voyages will range in duration from 5 to 20-days and explore the astounding diversity of wildlife and landscapes.
