Construction of the new Allura vessel for Oceania Cruises has reached a milestone. The ship was floated out of dry dock for the first time this week, ahead of its maiden voyage in just twelve months time.
The Allura float out
The 1,200 guest cruise ship was gently eased out of the Fincantieri dry dock near Genoa, Italy before being floated to the nearby fit-out berth for installation of the luxurious, designer-inspired interiors.
“Now that we have completed her shell, we are excited to get started on her interior. We have lots of exciting enhancements on Allura, our eighth vessel, further elevating our offerings and firmly cementing Oceania Cruises as the only ultra-premium cruise brand.”
Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises
Allura to set a new standard
Oceania Cruises tell us the new Allura cruise ship will set new standards for luxury cruise travel. It will boast opulent suites, not to mention the largest standard staterooms at sea. Indeed, these staterooms measure a massive 27 sq. m. / 290 sq. ft. rivalling the size of the more expensive rooms of ultra-luxury brands like Seabourn and Silversea.
Allura will also boast new and reimagined public spaces. For instance, there will be a redesigned library with plush residential-style furnishings as well as a new onboard crêperie. The new ship will also have five specialty dining venues, including Oceania Cruises newest restaurants, Ember and Aquamar Kitchen. Popular guest spaces will also be there, including the much-loved Artists Loft.
Allura’s delivery
Allura will enter service in twelve months, with a 6-day maiden voyage from Trieste, Italy to Athens, Greece commencing 18 July 2025.
Allura will be the eighth vessel in the Oceania Cruises fleet, and sister ship to Vista which was commissioned in 2023.
