Crystal has placed an order for another new cruise ship, underscoring the determination of the ultra-luxury line to expand its fleet. It comes in addition to the two vessels the company ordered earlier this year.

Built by master Italian ship builder Fincantieri and fitted out by a team of acclaimed interior designers, the third vessel will be similar to its sister ships with a capacity of 690-guests and weighing 61,800-gross-tons.

It will boast signature Crystal features like a promenade deck extending right around the vessel. There will also be a variety of world-class restaurants including the much-loved Umi Uma Japanese eatery and the newly popular Beefbar which has been created by legendary restaurateur Riccardo Giraudi.

Italian built ships

All three of the new Crystal ships will be constructed at Fincantieri’s iconic ship yards in Italy. There, a team of international designers will develop the new-builds from the keel up.

“Agreeing to build a third ship together showcases the trust and partnership between my family and Fincantieri, dating back to Sitmar Cruises and evolving through Silversea to our present vision with Crystal.”

It’s also worth noting there will be a collection of dedicated single occupancy suites designed especially for solo cruisers.

The first two new vessels will be delivered starting in 2028. The third vessel is expect in 2032, bringing to five the number of ships in the luxurious Crystal fleet.
