Cunard’s Queen Victoria has emerged from her much-anticipated, US$40-million refit looking like new. The iconic Cunard liner was taken out of service on 5 May 2017 for the 19-day refit that included major structural changes to the vessel. Now we’ve got first pictures from the refreshed Queen Victoria.
The line tell us impeccable care and diligence has been taken to ensure passengers are greeted with the ultimate luxury experience from the moment they step on board the refreshed liner.
In a first for Queen Victoria, 43 all-new Britannia Clubs staterooms have been installed and Club guests will dine in their own Britannia Club Restaurant.
All other staterooms have also been renewed on the refreshed Queen Victoria, with the installation of large flat screen TVs, new furnishings and much requested tea and coffee making facilities.
Queens Grill guests staying in Grand and Penthouse suites will enjoy even more enhancements, with beautifully refined and redesigned living spaces. Some suites even boast a TV that folds down from the ceiling!
As we’ve previously reported, the aft lido sun deck has been entirely reconfigured. It now offers more space and shaded areas to enjoy al fresco dining. While the Winter Garden has been removed from sister ship Queen Mary 2, the conservatorium-style space has been retained and enhanced on Queen Victoria.
“The combined investment of $172 million for Queen Victoria’s refit along with Queen Mary 2’s remastering is a testament to Cunard’s commitment to our iconic vessels and enhancing our passenger experience,” said Josh Leibowitz, senior vice president, Cunard North America. “With the new designs and enhanced onboard offerings Queen Victoria is poised to sail the next generation of Cunarders offering unparalleled voyages.”
The refreshed Queen Victoria is now sailing with her first guests on a voyage from Southampton to the Canary Islands. The grand liner will then reposition to the Mediterranean for the summer season.
