Silver Nova has set sail on its maiden voyage from Venice, Italy. The 728-guest ultra-luxury vessel embarked on a 7-day round trip voyage of the Adriatic on Monday.

“As one of the most spacious ships at sea, and with the broadest array of bars, lounges, and restaurants in ultra-luxury cruise travel, Silver Nova elevates the experience for our guests like never before.”

The newest and largest ship in the Silversea fleet is sure to set a somewhat different course for the ultra-luxury cruise line. The design of some public spaces is entirely new, most notably the pool deck with its remarkable open vistas to the sea. Also, Silver Nova boasts 9 dining venues – more than any other ship in the 12-vessel fleet. Not to mention 13 different suite categories.

Heralding a new era of larger luxury ocean vessels

Silver Nova’s larger size means it offers the highest space-to-guest ratio in Silversea’s history. Indeed, with 728 guests it can accommodate more than twice the number of passengers as the line’s original 296-guest vessels.

Indeed, some might observe that Silver Nova has slipped out of the small-ship category, where intimate size couldn’t help but encourage convivial familiarity among guests and staff.

That said, the capacity of Silver Nova places it up against arch rival Regent Seven Seas Cruises whose new ultra-luxury ships also accommodate more than 700 guests.

Silver Nova will spend the northern summer in the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic for the Caribbean and South America. For more information visit the Silversea website.
