As we reported last month, Cunard have announced a huge US$40M refit of their Queen Victoria cruise ship. Today the luxury cruise line released more images showcasing the planned enhancements.

Scheduled for completion in June 2017, the refit will see almost all areas on Queen Victoria made-over, from the adults-only Aft Lido Deck to guest rooms and suites.

The renderings released by Cunard today highlighted some of these changes. They include the sun lovers Lido Sun Deck and the stunning new Winter Garden. The cruise line also offers an inside look at the Britannia Club Staterooms, Britannia Club Restaurant and five new luxurious Penthouse Suites.

Aft Lido Sun Deck

Those familiar with Queen Victoria will immediately notice the planned changes to the Aft Lido Deck. Most notable are the new cabanas and extended dining area. Overall the space will be extended. Those who enjoy the Lido Deck’s al fresco dining area will appreciate the additional shade covers. Windbreakers and additional sun loungers will also be introduced.

The Winter Garden

The Winter Garden may have been removed from Queen Mary 2, but on Queen Victoria it will retain pride of place on deck 9. The glass-covered lounge will get elegant new furnishings and décor, as well as a stunning new floor.

New Queen Victoria Club rooms

For the first time Cunard’s signature Britannia Club staterooms will be available on Queen Victoria. These Club rooms offer enhanced amenities and accommodation. All Queen Victoria Club rooms will have a prime mid-ship location on decks 7 and 8.

Queen Victoria Club rooms will receive newly-designed carpets featuring a contemporary geometric design as well as the addition of new soft furnishings. New flat screen TVs and, by popular request, tea and coffee making facilities will also be added.

The new Queen Victoria Club rooms will be further enhanced with premium balconies and a nine-pillow concierge menu to ensure maximum comfort for guests on board.

Britannia Club dining

To accompany the new Britannia Club Staterooms will be the new Britannia Club restaurant. The Britannia Club restaurant will be open exclusively for Club stateroom guests and they may dine whenever they choose.

Newly designed Penthouse Suites

Cunard tell us five of their Queen Victoria Penthouse Suites will been entirely redesigned during the refit. These five suites will be located aft and will showcase a completely new design intended to maximise space and luxury.

The new suites will feature floor to ceiling windows and doors, private teak balcony, additional storage space and beautiful bathrooms with whirlpool baths.
