A brand new luxury ship has been officially handed over to Silversea Cruises at the port of Eemshaven, Netherlands. Named Silver Ray, the 728-guest vessel is almost identical to its sister ship Silver Nova. Indeed, it is the second of the much-hyped Nova class of cruise ships.

“Silver Ray, the second ship in our cutting-edge Nova Class, alongside sister ship Silver Nova, beautifully encompasses Royal Caribbean Group’s vision for the future of innovative ultra-luxury and expedition cruise travel.”

Bert Hernandez – President, Silversea.

What’s new on Silver Ray

Silver Ray shares the same innovative, open-deck layout as Silver Nova. This is perhaps most evident on the reimagined pool deck which overlooks the water on the starboard side. The vessel also has a new outdoor dining venue known as The Marquee, as well as an open-air Dusk Bar.

Silver Ray accommodation

Silver Ray offers a wide choice of accommodation. Most guests will stay in spacious Veranda Suites.

The Otium Suite has a veranda complete with whirlpool.

However, if you like more space there is also a collection of larger suites like the Grand and Owner’s Suites; not to mention the Otium Suite which has a 40 sq. m. / 431 sq. ft. veranda, complete with a private whirlpool tub.

Dining on Silver Ray

Foodies will delight in the dining options available on Silver Ray. Indeed, there are ten dining venues on board the new cruise ship. These include the S.A.L.T. Kitchen with its destination-inspired menu and the popular Atlantide restaurant, which made its debut on Silver Muse in 2017.

The classic Silversea restaurants are on board too. There is delectable Italian cuisine at La Terrazza each evening and French fine dining at La Dame. The jazz club tradition continues at Silver Note, while on the open decks guests can rediscover the much-loved Grill or enjoy Naples-style pizza from Spaccanapoli.

Silver Ray maiden voyage

Silver Ray will embark on its sold-out maiden voyage from Lisbon, Portugal to Barcelona, Spain on 15 June 2024. The new vessel will remain in the Mediterranean for the rest of the European summer, before setting sail for Florida, USA in November 2024.
