Atlas Bar; our pick on Azamara Onward
The Atlas Bar was our pick for top-shelf cocktails. It is a super-cool bar with a collection of seventeen great looking cocktails. Some are entirely unique, like the Heart of Azamara with Vodka, Fresh Strawberry Puree, Fresh Lime Juice, Passionfruit Nectar, Galliano & Absinthe.
There are also classic cocktails with an Atlas Bar twist; we liked the London Fog Martini with Earl Grey Infused Gin, Fresh Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup & Egg White. It is always fun to watch the theatrics as the bartender makes your drink.
The Atlas Bar also has a tapas-style menu of small plates designed to compliment the libations. There’s Foie Gras Terrine, Smoked Lobster Carpaccio and Smoking Wagyu to name just a few.
It’s worth noting that cocktails in the Atlas Bar are priced at USD17.95. The tapas-style plates cost USD6.50 each.*
Open: 6:00pm – late.
Spirits Bar
Spirits Bar in the Den is one of the most popular places on the ship, especially after the shows in the Cabaret Lounge finish. In fact the ‘piano man’ in the Spirits Bar tends to draw in the crowd.
The space is bursting with atmosphere and the barmen mix great drinks. Lots of the libations are included in your cruise fare, but there are also top-shelf cocktails that cost extra; like the French 75 with Gin, Syrup, Lemon Juice, Champagne & Lemon Twist.
Open: 10:00am – midnight.
The Cabaret Lounge
Azamara Onward has a theatre called the Cabaret Lounge. It is the place to catch one of the shows like “Amped Up!” with hits from Queen to Pat Benetar, or the theatrical “Wanderlust”.
It has to be said that these shows were a little underwhelming, in spite of the talented cast.
The Cabaret Lounge also plays host to guest artists like comedians, musicians and magicians. There are even performances by local dance troupes on some voyages.
It’s worth noting that there is bar service in the Cabaret Lounge prior to and during performances.
Showtime: 9:00pm
The Prime C Bar
We think The Prime C Bar is one of the best kept secrets on board. It is tucked away inside the Prime C restaurant, but you don’t have to dine there to enjoy it. Simply turn up and take a seat at the bar.
Open: 6:00am – 10:00pm.
The Living Room
The Living Room is the biggest bar on Azamara Onward. It is perched high on deck 10 with panoramic views across the bow, so it’s hardly surprising it is popular at sunset.
Indeed, the Living Room is a hive of activity throughout the day. It is where they host trivia, games and get togethers. There is also a popular band who perform requests each afternoon and evening.
Open: noon – late.
Discoveries Bar
Discoveries Bar is just outside the main restaurant, which makes it a popular pre-dinner meeting point. Lots of guests catch up there to share stories about their day ashore over a pre-dinner tipple.
Open: 6:00pm – late.
The Pool Bar
The Pool Bar is just steps away from the sparkling waters of the Azamara Onward pool.
The Pool Bar serves all sorts of soft and alcoholic drinks, including classic summer cocktails like Piña colada and Mojito. Of course there is also beer, wine and champagne.
Open: 9:00am – 9:00pm.
