The Grand Salon theatre

The theatre on board Seabourn Odyssey is called The Grand Salon. It is at the heart of Seabourn Odyssey nightlife and is the place to see live shows and film screenings in the evening. (There are also enrichment lectures during the day.)

The Grand Salon features thrilling stage shows.
The Grand Salon features thrilling stage shows.

Most nights the resident cast or guest entertainers perform in The Grand Salon. Usually there is a single 9:45pm show, but on some voyages there may be early shows as well. Your daily Herald newsletter will indicate this.

Usually the resident cast will perform broadway style shows which are surprisingly good. However, the guest entertainers can be a bit hit-and-miss.

The cast show called An Evening with Sir Tim Rice is undoubtedly the highlight. Seabourn partnered with the Tony Award winning composer for this exclusive production. It features hits from the best-loved musicals Sir Tim wrote with Sir Andrew Lloyd-Weber.

Sir Tim narrates the entire show though video screens in the theatre and he shares showbiz stories as well as photos from his own private collection.

An Evening with Sir Tim Rice is a must see. It is very popular so we advise arriving in The Grand Saloon early to get good seats. There are pillars in the theatre that cause eye-line problems.

There is bar service in The Grand Salon during each evening performance.

The Club bar on Seabourn Odyssey

The Club on Seabourn Odyssey is open every night. It is a lively place to go for a drink before or after dinner. There is a stage and a dance floor, and a live band perform pop hits as well. They really add to the Seabourn Odyssey nightlife.

The Club has plenty of comfortable places to sit and relax too. There are intimate corners for couples as well as larger spaces for groups of friends.

There is an excellent bar in The Club and the service is attentive. Watching your favourite drink being made by the talented mixologists is great fun!

Glass screens partition the bar area from the dance floor. It’s a clever idea that cuts down the noise from the speakers, making the bar area more intimate.

The Club is one of the best Seabourn Odyssey bars.

The Observation Lounge

The Observation Lounge has stunning panoramic views across the front of the ship. It is also one of the most lively Seabourn Odyssey bars.

The decor has a distinct nautical feel. There are cream and aqua tones, offset by dark timber highlights. Comfortable sofas and leather arm chairs fan out around a centrally positioned bar.

The Observation Lounge is among the most popular Seabourn Odyssey bars.

The Observation Lounge serves a traditional high tea each afternoon, but in the evening it really sparkles. The chiffon curtains are drawn. The lights are low. And the resident pianist sings sassy tunes. Waiters sail by with Champagne and plates of caviar.

This is Seabourn Odyssey nightlife at its best! No wonder it was the most popular pre-dinner meeting spot during our Seabourn Odyssey review voyage.

In addition, the Observation Lounge offers an Early Riser’s tea and coffee service too.
