The nightlife on Seabourn Quest is among the best of any luxury cruise ship, with intimate bars and sophisticated entertainment.
The Observation Bar
With commanding views across the bow, the Observation Bar is the most popular nightlife venue on Seabourn Quest – especially at sunset.
It feels like a private club where the staff soon learn your preferred libation. A pianist sets the mood and waiters glade by with trays of canapés and caviar. Its hardly surprising so many guests tell me their best Seabourn moments happen here.
The Observation Bar also serves a traditional afternoon tea with sandwiches and pâtisserie, as well as an early risers buffet breakfast.
The Grand Salon
The theatre on Seabourn Quest is known as The Grand Salon. It’s where guest speakers present enrichment lecture and the cast perform engaging production shows. There are also special guest artists who perform as well as film screenings.
The shows in The Grand Salon are better than I’ve experienced on any other luxury cruise ship. They have a sophistication that others lack, not to mention high production values. Arguably the most popular show is “An Evening with Sir Tim Rice”. It is a homage to the great songwriters work; written and presented by him and sung by the cast.
There is usually just one show in The Grand Salon each evening, though on occasion there can be one early and one late show. The daily Herald newsletter will indicate this.
It’s worth noting there is bar service available in The Grand Salaon on Seabourn Quest.
Showtime: 9:45pm
The Club
The Club is the live music bar on Seabourn Quest. It is where the band perform each evening while guests enjoy the dance floor. It’s all very lively.
On the other hand, the bar in The Club offers a more intimate ambiance. Screened by glass partitions, it’s the perfect place for more romantic rendezvous.
Opening hours: 5:30pm – late
The bar at The Grill by Thomas Keller
Perhaps the best kept secret on Seabourn Quest is the bar at The Grill by Thomas Keller. It has an exceptionally good cocktail list, not available at any other venue on the ship.
On my review voyage I sampled an indulgent Old Cuban. It was made with Zacapa 23 Rum, Cane Sugar Syrup Angostura Bitters, Mint Leaves, a Splash of Champagne & Fresh Lime Juice.
It’s worth noting that you don’t need to dine at The Grill to enjoy the bar. The staff can bring your cocktail to the nearby pool deck if you’d prefer.
