The Oceania Riviera refurbishment has been completed and images of the transformation have now been unveiled. The accommodation has been made over. There are brand new public spaces and reimagined menus.
The massive makeover is part of the multi-million dollar OceaniaNEXT program designed to refresh the fleet. Indeed, the Oceania Riviera refurbishment has seen almost every part of the cruise ship redecorated. There is even a brand new coffee bar.
In fact, the addition of the new Baristas lounge is one of the biggest changes. This lounge is located forward on deck 14 with panoramic 180-degree views of the ocean. It has comfortable armchairs and a wrap-around coffee bar. It is the perfect place to relax with an Illy Espresso coffee.
“With the evolution of OceaniaNEXT, this was a great opportunity to not just enhance the guest experience aboard Riviera, but to elevate it through the addition of surprising new elements”
Bob Binder, President & CEO of Oceania Cruises
Both the Veranda and Concierge Staterooms were also redecorated during the Oceania Riviera refurbishment. They now sport a chic new decor in tones of espresso, caramel and ivory. It looks very smart.
But for a real treat I recommend one of the refreshed Oceania Riviera suites. In fact, your stay in a suite will be even sweeter with dedicated butler service and a range of other perks.
Guests in the biggest suites will enjoy an entirely redesigned space. As a matter of fact the Owner’s Suite looks spectacular, furnished exclusively with the Ralph Lauren Home Collection.
This suite has three rooms. There is a foyer large enough for a grand piano, bar and sofa. There is also a nautically themed living area and a sumptuous bedroom. Not to mention a wrap-around teak veranda with outdoor furniture.
The Masters Suite has also been redecorated. It is a blissful retreat with a new Cote D’Azure king-size bed, elegant suede chairs and dramatic nickel-trimmed lighting accents.
Oceania Cruises entire fleet will be progressively refurbished. Regatta is scheduled for refurbishment in September 2019.

Just back from fab cruise on Rivera, really enjoyed every moment, our particular love in the morning was baristas.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise Maggi – especially the revamped Baristas!
Can you tell me if the WiFi has been improved on this last refurbishment? Thanks
Thanks for your question Sharon. WiFi is always a big issue for cruisers. Interestingly, most cruise lines use the same satellite service for internet communications. The problem comes when too many people on board want to use it at once. The satellites will only accept a certain amount of data at a time. Consequently larger ships often have worse internet than the small ones. On Riviera we understand there has been no change in the satellite communications used, so our advice is to avoid peak times – like breakfast and before dinner – to get a better connection.

My husband has been on Oceania Marina twice. Enjoy cruise ship’s ammenties and great dinners in Restaurants. Wish to travel on the Oceania Riveria soon.
What did they refurbished on the Veranda suites, they look the same. Did they just change the carpet? HAHAHAHA
In fact Randolph, that was indeed the major change in the Veranda Staterooms. We have more information in our full review of the Riviera Veranda Stateroom.

We are cruising on sierena in February. I am quite sure our penthouse came with minibar stocked with alcohol. Now it does not list this for our suite. Was this a recent change? Also there were other perks not mentioned now.
Any advice?
Dear Susan
Thanks for your question – it’s a good one. And thank you for your patience while we got a definitve answer from our friends at Oceania Cruises.
Oceania’s smaller R-class ships include the following mini-bar setup for suite guests:
The larger O-class ships have a slightly different mini-bar setup:
The complimentary in-suite bar setup for top suites is only done once at embarkation. The setup includes 6 full-size bottles of wine and spirits. Guests can now select all wine, all spirits or any combination of wine & spirits from an enhanced complimentary bar setup menu. Your Butler will present you with the menu on embarkation day. Guests can then make their selection accordingly. This new menu now offers a much greater variety which is a valuable amenity enhancement for guests in the top suites.
It’s worth noting that there will be a charge for any additional requests to replenish any of the bottles included in the initial setup. Mixers are complimentary.
If your voyage is a Grand or Extended sailing the complimentary in-suite bar setup will be re-stocked once at each turnaround cruise segment.
Guests are allowed to bring the bottle to the dining rooms without a corkage fee.
I hope this helps.
