A construction milestone was reached last week when Vista, the newest vessel in the Oceania Cruises fleet, was floated out of her construction dry dock.

At a ceremony in Genoa, Italy the 67,000 ton cruise ship was blessed by Monsignor Tasca, Archbishop of Genoa. A bottle of prosecco was broken over the bow before the sluice gates opened, floating Vista off her keel blocks.

“Vista is Oceania Cruises’ most anticipated ship in the history of our company and we cannot wait to welcome her inaugural season guests next year”

Howard Sherman, President & CEO of Oceania Cruises.

The 1200-guest Vista will feature new solo-cruiser staterooms,as well as redesigned Veranda Staterooms and spectacular Ralph Lauren inspired Owner’s Suites. There will be twelve dining options to choose from, including the new Ember Restaurant. As well as eight bars, lounges, and entertainment venues.

Vista is the first new-build for Oceania Cruises since the launch of Riviera in 2012. Indeed, she is being constructed by Fincantieri, the same Italian ship maker that built Rivera.

“Ten years have passed since we delivered Riviera to our friends of Oceania Cruises. I am sure that Vista will give life to a new class of ships that will stand out for its refinement and technological advances”

Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of the Merchant Ships Division of Fincantieri.

Vista will sail her gala maiden voyage from Rome to Barcelona on 14 April 2023. For more information visit the Oceania Cruises website.
