As demand for small ship cruising continues to grow, a boutique Croatian line has announce a new-build ship will join its fleet.

Unforgettable Croatia operate six luxurious vessels on the Dalmatian Coast. Each pocket-sized ship accommodates no more than 40 guests.

Indeed, the new-build MV Aretis will accommodate just 36 pampered passengers. It will debut in the spring of 2025 sailing 7-day itineraries between Split and Dubrovnik.

Aretis will be more like a private yacht than a cruise ship. It promises to have intimate spaces guests can call their own, with sun loungers and a jacuzzi. Not to mention a chic bar and restaurant. The cabins will be equally stylish, albeit cozy measuring just 15 sq. m. / 161 sq. Ft.

The appeal of small-ship sailing

The appeal of these small vessels is undeniable. Their size means they can provide truly bespoke travel experiences, something you simply can’t get on ships with hundreds of passengers. On small vessels the crowds and queues are banished in favour of doing things your way, in your own time.

These small vessels also visit places off limits to the big ships, which means you get to see more. And when it comes to shore excursions the small ship difference ensures an authentically local experience. On board the service is personal and intuitive thanks to the small number of fellow passengers.

What makes Unforgettable Croatia different?

An Unforgettable Croatia cruise is unique. Rather than sailing at night they spend carefree days cruising the crystal clear waters of the Croatian archipelago. After breakfast they drop anchor at secluded beaches where guests can swim right off the back of the ship.

After a scrumptious lunch there is usually an excursion; think wine tasting or even sampling freshly shucked oysters. Of course if you’re enjoying the ship too much there is no obligation to do the tour!

Overnights in port give you time to discover local restuarants.

Later, as the sun sets, the ship will dock at a seaside town where it spends the night in port. This unconventional approach means guests can enjoy the evening ashore; immersing themselves in the local culture and tasting authentic cuisine.

What’s included on Unforgettable Croatia

Your Unforgettable Croatia cruise fare includes daily buffet breakfast and a three-course set lunch with drinks. At least one celebratory dinner is also included. Shore excursions are part of the deal and so too are private transfers to and from the ship, as well as free wi-fi.
