Seabourn internet packages are now free for every guest. The surprise announcement was made to Seabourn Club members via email.

“Seabourn will now provide complimentary Wi-Fi service with unlimited minutes for all bookings on every ship in our fleet, making it easier for you to stay connected while you travel with us.”

Seabourn’s free Wi-Fi internet package

The free Seabourn internet service is now available on every ship in the fleet, from Seabourn Odyssey to Ovation. It is called the Surf Wi-Fi Package and offers unlimited minutes on a single device for each guest. This free package will enable guests to access the internet from anywhere on the ship including suites, restaurants, bars and outdoor areas.

The free Surf Wi-Fi Package is best suited to web browsing, email and social media. However, it won’t be good enough for streaming movies or internet video calls.

An alternative premium internet service

If you want to watch Netflix or use communication services like FaceTime, then you will need Seabourn’s premium Wi-Fi internet package known as the Stream Wi-Fi Package. It allows you to stream video and make intenet calls from up to 4 different devices.

The Stream Wi-Fi Package is free for guests in Penthouse and Premium suites, as well as Diamond-level (and above) Seabourn Club members. According to Seabourn, guests booked in Ocean View and Veranda suites can upgrade to the Stream Wi-Fi Package for a “nominal charge”.

Premium Stream Wi-Fi Package

• Up to 4 devices per guest.
• Unlimited minutes of internet access.
• Access to video streaming and internet telephony.
• VPN/cloud storage services.

Worth knowing

Seabourn’s free Wi-Fi internet packages will make it easier for guests to stay connected while at sea. However, it’s worth noting that the onboard internet service may be slower or even limited during periods of heavy use. Also, because shipboard internet is satellite dependent it may suffer intermittent outages.
