More space to relax

The Azamara Onward Continent Suites were a revolution when introduced in 1999. Nothing like them was available on comparable ships. They offered more room to relax, in the same way a junior suite does in a hotel.

The Continent Suites offer more space.

Today, the Continent Suites are still a great way to cruise. Refurbished in 2022, they have a premium feel with a bright, modern decor and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that lead on to the veranda.

The sitting area has a pleasant outlook.

There is a cozy sitting area with a large armchair and an adjustable coffee table that can be raised for in-suite meals.

There is a writing desk with ample room for laptops and devices. In fact it is a great working space, with power points for US, UK and European plugs.

The queen-size bed is very comfortable.

The Azamara Continent Suite has a very comfortable bed (medium-firm feel). It can be configured in a queen or twin-bed set up with nightstands on either side. There are bedside reading lamps and bedside USB charging points too. Although it’s worth noting these are only for old-style USB-A devices.

The Azamara Onward Continent Suite also has a full length mirror, a stocked minibar, safety deposit box and an interactive TV.

A glorious veranda

The Azamara Continent Suite veranda is glorious. With space for an outdoor dining setting it is perfect for meals al fresco; something your butler will happily arrange.

The veranda is a private haven for you to relax and enjoy.

Continent Suite bathroom

While not as spacious as you might expect on newer vessels, the bathroom is nonetheless sure to please. Indeed, the bright and stylish decor makes it feel more roomy.

Our bathroom had a walk-in shower.

Continent Suite guests can choose either a tub or shower set-up; we picked the latter. It was a good choice as the walk-in shower enhanced the sense of space.

There is also a hotel-style wash basin and lots of storage space on the shelves and under the vanity.

Butler service

The butler service is arguably the best part of staying in a Continent Suite. Azamara Onward’s butlers know just how to spoil you with treats like afternoon canapés and cocktails. They can book hard to access restaurants or even serve meals course-by-course in your suite. Not to mention helping with packing and unpacking.

Storage

The Azamara Onward Continent Suite has lots of storage space. We think it is well suited to longer voyages when you pack more.

Ample storage space in the closet.

There is a closet with hanging space for two cases full of clothing, as well as three extra large drawers. We found these especially handy for keeping bulky items and cold weather attire. You will also find a safety depsoit box for your valuables.

Editors tip: To ensure your empty luggage fits easily under the bed, open it out first.
