Seven Seas Voyager Penthouse Suite

Excellent

The Seven Seas Voyager Penthouse Suite blends living area and bedroom with a genuine teak veranda and a spacious marble bathroom. There is also butler service and priority online reservations for dining and shore excursions. I detail it all in this Seven Seas Voyager Penthouse Suite review.

Penthouse Suite guests enjoy a welcome bottle of champagne and a floral arrangement as well as a personalised mini-bar. In fact, guests in this premium suite get a range of extra perks as well.

In addition to the services of a personal Butler, there is an illy Espresso machine and a Bose Bluetooth speaker. Each evening there is an in-suite canapé service. And Penthouse Suite guests also receive free laundry and pressing.

However, it is important to note that not all Penthouse Suites are the same. Indeed, there are three Penthouse Suite categories and one of them has an entirely different floor plan.

Penthouse Suite floor plan

Most Penthouse Suites share a unique floor plan, however those located at the back of the cruise ship have the same floor plan as the more common Concierge Suite. There are pros and cons with each.

Those at the back of the ship (category C) are smaller, but have a double-sized veranda. While the other Penthouse Suites (categories A and B) have a slightly larger internal space and unique floor plan, but a standard-sized veranda.

This Seven Seas Voyager Penthouse Suite review covers those A and B category suites. These have 30 sq. m. / 323 sq. ft. of internal space, as well as a teak veranda measuring 5 sq. m. / 54 sq. ft.

There is a blended bedroom and sitting area with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that lead on to the veranda. In addition, the Penthouse Suite has a spacious marble bathroom and a walk-in closet.

A comfortable living space

The living space in the Penthouse Suite has a unique design. As you can see from the pictures in this Seven Seas Voyager Penthouse Suite review, it cleverly maximises the not-so-large space.

In 2016 the living space was redecorated in the style of Seven Seas Explorer in a palette of cream, teal and gold as well as white marble and wood grain highlights. Also, the suite is filled with natural light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling glass doors as well as a large picture window.

The suite has a European king or twin bed setup – the choice is yours. There are fine linens and a selection of pillow styles. There is also a hand-crafted leather bedhead and on either side there are nightstands with deep drawers for storing books and other personal items. However, there are no bedside USB slots for charging your mobile devices.

Next to the bed is a marble-topped writing desk with panoramic ocean views, as well as a book shelf and a make-up table with a cosmetics drawer and power points for U.S. and European appliances.

At the other end of the Penthouse Suite is a sitting area. It has a plush sofa as well as a coffee table and a comfortable armchair.

There is a heavy curtain to separate the bedroom from the sitting area, but it’s worth noting that when drawn back this curtain makes it difficult to access one side of the bed.

It is also worth noting that the flat screen TV in the Seven Seas Voyager Penthouse Suite is rather small for a premium suite. In addition, it is mounted in an awkward position on the wall.

A gracious teak veranda

The Seven Seas Voyager Penthouse Suite has a gracious teak veranda. I think it is the perfect place  to relax and watch the ever changing view.

It has to be said that the veranda is not quite as large as you might expect in a premium suite. However, there is enough room for two luxurious recliners and a cocktail table.

Also, the Penthouse Suite veranda is extremely private. Indeed some have no verandas next-door.

Bathroom

The bathroom in the Seven Seas Voyager Penthouse Suite is spacious and has a full-size tub (although not a Jacuzzi) and a separate shower. Also, there is plenty of storage space for your personal effects on the marble vanity and the shelving on either side.

Unfortunately these bathrooms did not receive much attention during the 2016 refurbishment. This shows in the somewhat dated pink marble as well as the timber cupboards under the vanity which can best be described as functional.

That said, the bathroom is bursting with luxurious spa products including both Guerlain and L’Occitane Mer & Mistral soaps, shampoos and lotions. There is also a men’s unscented shaving kit, facial wipes and an emory board.

Storage

The Seven Seas Voyager Penthouse Suite has ample storage space. In fact, each suite has a large walk-in closet with hanging space for three cases full of luggage. There are also drawers and shelving for delicate items.

Positions of Penthouse Suites

There are 91 Penthouse Suites on Seven Seas Voyager. These are spread across five decks from deck 6 to 10.

The entry-level category C Penthouse Suites are all found at the back of the cruise ship. They have extra deep verandas and wake views. It’s worth noting these verandas will experience some degree of noise while the ship is underway.

The category A and B suites (featured in this Seven Seas Voyager Penthouse Suite review) have more centrally located positions.

The cost difference between the Penthouse Suite categories is not significant, so your choice will probably depend on which floor plan you prefer.
