Silver Endeavour will enter dry dock in Italy for planned refurbishment next month. The purpose-built polar expedition vessel acquired from Crystal Cruises last year will get 10 new suites, including two brand new premium suite categories.

“With our guests’ cruise experience in mind, we are broadening her range of accommodation options by introducing two new suite categories, enriching a selection of public venues, and creating space for addition crew members to maintain one of the industry’s highest crew-to-guest ratios.”

Brand new suite types

Silver Endeavour will receive two brand new suite categories, called Master and Signature Suites. These will replace Silver Endeavour’s existing helicopter hanger.

There will be two new 108 sq. m. / 1,163 sq. ft. Master Suites. Silversea tell us each will afford an even greater connection with the outside environment. Located aft they will have uninterrupted, 270-degree views from the large living area and veranda. Indeed, the veranda will measure 29 sq. m. / 312 sq. ft.

There will also be a separate king-size bedroom as well as a spacious marble bathroom with whirlpool tub and walk-in shower.

In addition to the Master Suites there will be four new Signature Suites. These will be somewhat smaller, measuring up to 78 sq. m. / 850 sq. ft. However, they will be no less luxurious. Each will boast an open plan living/dining area as well as a separate bedroom. What’s more, each will have a generously sized bathroom with whirlpool tub as well as a large veranda with outdoor furniture.

The decor of these new premium suites can best be described as ‘evolved Muse’. There are echoes of the much-loved Musified style, but with a subtle art deco, Scandi touch.

Additional Classic Veranda Suites

Silver Endeavour will also get four more Classic Veranda Suites during the dry dock refurbishment. These 33 sq. m. / 356 sq. ft. suites will be located starboard on deck four.

Casino to be removed from Silver Endeavour

Most interestingly, Silversea will remove the casino from Silver Endeavour. The casino will be replaced by additional crew cabins. Silversea tell us this will help ensure unparalleled service standards and expand the expedition team.

What makes the removal of the casino interesting is that it would be usually be considered a revenue raiser. However, Silversea have obviously seen greater value in enhanced guest services.

Other enhancements to Silver Endeavour will take place during the April dry dock. Indeed, public areas will be refreshed and notably, handcrafted Lalique crystal panels will be installed in the specialty restaurant known as La Dame.
