An exciting day for Silversea as their newest ultra-luxury cruise ship was christened by god mother, 17-year old Costanza Lefebrvre, at a glittering ceremony in Monaco. Costanza, daughter of Silversea Chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio did the honours, breaking a bottle of Champagne over the bow of the beautiful new ship.
The sun was shining early in the day, but as the Silver Muse christening got underway in the evening the heavens opened. It did’t dampen the mood at the historic celebration which was hosted by Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio and attended by Prince Albert II of Monaco.
The Sinfonietta Orchestra of Rome gave an amazing performance, as did the renowned violinist Charlie Siem, which lent an air of culture to the elegant occasion.
Silver Muse is the ninth cruise ship in the Silversea fleet. Catering for the most discerning guests, Silversea proudly tell us it offers the highest expression of Italian style and comfort, redefining the ultra-luxury cruising experience.
Silver Muse’s 596 guests enjoy all-suite accommodation. Every suite boasts its own private teak veranda and the larger suites have separate bedrooms and opulent spa-style marble bathrooms.
Silver Muse also boasts an unrivalled selection of dining options including three restaurants new to the Silversea fleet. These are Atlantide, a seafood and grill concept, the Asian-accented Indochine and an Italian-themed poolside restaurant Spaccanapoli which serves home-made Italian pizzas throughout the day.
These new dining options give guests on Silver Muse a choice of eight restaurants and the freedom to eat “anything, anywhere, anytime” on the ship.
The day after the Silver Muse christening the brand new ship makes her inaugural Mediterranean cruise, a 13-day roundtrip voyage from Monte Carlo. She will remain in the Mediterranean thoughout the European summer before crossing the Atlantic to Canada and the U.S.A. in September.
