Travel writer Paul Theroux will lead a star-studded line-up of nine storytellers on the highly anticipated “Tale of Tales” Silversea World Cruise 2022.
Departing Fort Lauderdale on 5 January next year, the intimate Silver Whisper will host a dazzlingly diverse group of tale tellers including a chef and an archaeologist, as well as a photographer and even a polar explorer.
“Our curious guests collect interactions with people as they travel the world, and they are enriched as a result. They will enjoy unique insights and fascinating observations from some of the world’s pre-eminent creatives during this unforgettable voyage.

Tale tellers who spark imagination
Each segment of the World Cruise 2022 will bring onboard one of the nine tale tellers. Silversea tell us they will not only accompany guests as they explore the world, but spark imagination and give voice to curiosity. Not to mention becoming the main character of each guest’s very own Tale of Tales.
Silversea’s World Cruse 2022 itinerary
The 138-day World cruise will sail from Fort Lauderdale on 5 January 2022 to Copenhagen, Denmark. The itinerary will take in 69 ports in 32 different countries.
It’s worth noting that the pandemic has forced a change to the typical World Cruise itinerary. Indeed, Silversea’s World Cruise 2022 will not visit Asia. Rather, the voyage will transit the Panama Canal before sailing down the west coast of South America, then on to Antarcica. After crossing the South Atlantic, it then sails up the east coast of Africa to the Red Sea and through the Suez Canal to Europe.
The itinerary is segmented into 10 routes, each featuring special events in addition to guest tale tellers. These events include the vibrant Fiesta Cartagena in Colombia and a world exclusive performance of the Carmen Suite in Seville, Spain. As well as a farewell dinner at the famed Munch Museum in Oslo.

The 382-guest Silver Whisper is perfect for exploring the World in the company of like minded cruisers. Indeed, in my experience the intimate vessel encourages a wonderful sense of camaraderie on the World Cruise.
As our Silver Whisper review explains, guests enjoy all the amenities of a grand resort combined with the charms of a boutique hotel. Silver Whisper has refurbished Muse-style accommodations as well as exceptional service, paired with the enhanced spaces and amenities of a larger ship.
